We will be meeting every Thursday evening from 7:-00-9:00pm starting on September 1 at Nutrition West( 116 E. Fairview) in Meridian. Our study material will be the "Healing of America" seminar series. There are 4 seminars in the series, with each seminar taking approximately 4 weeks:
Seminar #1: God's Hand in the Building of America
Seminar #2: The Founders' Charter of Freedom
Seminar #3: The Unhinging of America -- Attacks on the Charter of Freedom
Seminar $4: Restoring the Charter of Freedom
The seminars will be taught by Pete Nielsen, myself(Blaine Bergeson), and regular guest speakers. The cost will be $39 per seminar in advance(at the first meeting), or $49 thereafter. This will cover the cost of the materials, reservation of the conference room, and compensation for monthly guest speakers. Please refer to the Thomas Jefferson Center website to get more information about the content of the seminars: www.thomasjeffersoncenter.com
In our first meeting we will review the purpose of this group and introduce everyone to what the Thomas Jefferson Center is all about. We will show some short videos about what needs to change in the Legislative and Executive branches of the government to give you an idea of the type of information that we will be discussing over time. We will then pass out your binders and materials and launch into the first Seminar. Each Thursday thereafter we will spend almost the entire time going through the seminar material. We will reserve a few minutes each week to cover current events.
Those that show a real interest in learning even more, and are really serious and anxious about transforming knowledge into action, will have the opportunity to be selected to join the Thomas Jefferson Center Boise Regional Roundtable, underneath the Thomas Jefferson Center National Roundtable. There will be an additional cost for this group. This group will be diving into the constitution on a deeper level by going through the latest edition of the "Making of America" student edition by Cleon Skousen. This group will also be responsible for organizing the 3 day Regional event that will be held every quarter. This event will have guest lectures and cover various constitutional topics, including the application of constitutional principles to current events. One full day of the event will be for Regional Roundtable members only, and the other days will be open to the public, but each event will have a different focus.
Feel free to forward this email to anyone that you feel might be interested in studying in depth about the constitution from the viewpoint of the founding fathers. This includes young people, about 14 and older. We really need to make a concerted effort to reach out to the young people and help education them.
Please refer to the website included above to learn more about the Thomas Jefferson Center and to see our first Boise meeting details in the Calendar.
Please rsvp whether you will be coming or not so we have a good count. You will not want to miss this first meeting.
Regards,
Blaine Bergeson
