For homeschool students wanting to attend the Dennis Professional Technical Center, here are the options.
If the homeschool student lives within the Boise School District, the student would enroll in what would be their home high school for 2 periods - the same 2 periods that they would attend the Dennis Center course.
If the homeschool student lives within the Boise School District and is part of an online school, the student would dual-enroll in what would be their home high school for 2 periods - the same 2 periods that they would attend the Dennis Center course.
If the homeschool student lives outside of the district, but within ADA county, they could either enroll at their would-be home high school and then attend the Dennis Center (you would have to approve the enrollment through Meridians PTE supervisor Staci Lowe) or open-enroll at Borah High School for 2 periods. The open enrollment process needs to be renewed each year. See attached form.
If the homeschool student lives outside of the district and county, they open-enroll at Borah High School for 2 periods. Again, the open enrollment process needs to be renewed each year. If the homeschool student lives outside of the district and county and they are enrolled in a highschool taking one or more courses, they need to dual-enroll and open-enroll at Borah High School for 2 periods.
If there are 2 classes at the Dennis Center that they want to take, then they need to open or dual-enroll for 4 periods.
When you fill out the open-enrollment form for Borah, please write at the top of the form “homeschool - Dennis Center Course”
